1. Do we know how to do it?
2. Can we be good at it?
3. Do you even want to take time with it?
4. Do we have to?
5. Are we going to ever get it right?
I know right, so many questions! But, we know that in order to make any relationship work, there have to be open lines of communication. And fellas, I’m with you. When it comes to me to talk, I’m the last one that wants to but I know it’s a must.
And the thing that I’ve found out is that the more I communicate, the more my significant other understands me and can know, for any future situation, how I will react or what’s my opinion. That’s kind of how I handle it without me having to deal with the same thing over and over again.
So yes, by having the communication lines open, actually saved me from a conversation that was avoided! I’ll be the last one to say let’s talk, but in the end, I know it’s needed. So let’s not throw the covers over our heads when we have to discuss things. Just remember that a conversation today can stop an argument tomorrow.
”Do not let any unwholesome talk come out of your mouths, but only what is helpful for building others up according to their needs.” Ephesians 4:29
